yes I would probably guess that the monitor is damaged. All the LCD's Ive seen will put up a test pattern or message when they arent getting a signal. Or at elast when they arent hooked up. My LCD can tell the difference between being hooked up and not getting a signal, and not being hooked up. So if you have the cable disconnected and it still does not do anything, chances are its broken.

Can you bring up the on-screen menu? If so, maybe reset the settings to the defaults. Is there only one input? Maybe one input is bad and another (if it has one) works.

Sounds bad to me also. Maybe that's why your friend gave it away :hehe:

The laptop works, the only thing it's that the power adapter it's damaged and his client give away the computer.....

It's hard to disassemble the monitor....

    I check it.....

The thing that takes my atention was some adhesive tape made of metal...
(maybe and electromagnetic shield) and now It think that it's causing some short :duh: ....

I'll check it again right now!
