I'm hoping that some of you might be able to help me with a problem I have with this pump.

I am currently in the process or re-building my pc and want to set up two watercooling loops. My main loop has a Laing D5 pump and that works great; cooling the CPU & Chipset.

I've decided to put the graphics card on it's own loop. I have a oldish DDC pump that I thought was broken. I took it apart gave it a bit of a clean up, set up a loop from the pump to a reservoir and back again. I plugged it in and nothing happened. I gave it the universal fix all method (ie. hit it with a screwdriver) and amazingly it started working.

I was obviously delighted. I cut the power then switched it back on. It started back up. I did this a few more times and then it failed to start up again. Another few taps from the screwdriver and it started working again.

As it's failing to start everytime I therefore can't use it.

I am wondering if any of you can help me figure out a way to get the pump working every time?

Any help would be much appreciated.

It sounds like its just a loose connection in the pump mate. Just try make sure everything is solid and immovable.

    Cheers for the thoughts.

Doesn't matter now. Last night I thought that I'd get it started and leave it running for a few hours. I hoped that it might free up the motor a bit. It only helped in deciding what to do.
After about an hour I noticed a rather nasty smell in the room I was testing it in. After a quick check it was obvious thet the pump had burnt out. It must have locked up whilst running.

Oh well, time for a shiney new one.
