Hi guys, just wondering if anyone can tell me whats going on with my item here? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....MESO:IT&viewitem=&item=250126917973&rd=1&rd=1 Its been bid up to £989, which it is obviously not worth. So is this person going to try and scam me now? Thanks
If the bidder is trying to scam him, he's hardly going to say "ooh you got me, maybe next time" is he? Seebul I'd probably just contact eBay and ask for their advice on the matter.
eeek, make sure you get in touch with eBay if it isn't paid for, as you'll end up with £50 odd in seller fees. You can cancel their bids with: http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?CancelBidShow&CancelBidShow=&guest=1 Hope this helps, -Fr4nk
Probably a friend of someone else selling the same phone at the same time as you. This way they kill your sale in the hope that bidders will go to them instead.
If you check the bid history you can see that the same bidder overbid himself again and again. Seems like a scam to me. Get in contact with ebay and sort it out.
Thanks for the quick replies guys. Ebay's site isn't very helpful, its badly layed out tbh. Ive contacted ebay but aparently all i can do is file a 'unpaid dispute form' but i have to wait 2 weeks before i can do that. And yeh, -Fr4nk, ebay want 30 odd quid in fees because it sold for so much. And it doesnt actually say on ebays site about not having to pay that money if the auction isnt successful? Scammers p*** me off
personally I wouldn't even bother trying to sell phones on ebay - the exact same thing happened to be 4 times with the same phone. I ended up selling it on AVforums and having a much nicer deal overall! You can reclaim the listing fees etc by reporting him as a non-paying bidder. I don't think he is trying to 'scam' you as such (how would that work?), more likely just a kid trying to annoy you, or as Yoda said.
