    Guess its down to interpretation, i read that as a place to store web pages/cgi scripts user created data of that nature not a place to serve up network drives to windows users.
    "location of the data files for particular service"- I suppose it depends if you classify shared files as data files for samba/nfs i personally wouldn't.
