I'd like to set up a 2 bay NAS to be shared across 3 pc's at home. It needs to be simple to set up and very quiet. The idea being to run a redundant storage backup and central storage point.

I've been looking at a couple of options; cheapest out of the box solution seems to be the netgear stora. The next option seems to be the well regarded netgear readynas, alternatively I'm looking at a thecus solution. Any views? The major downside to the readynas seems to be the noisy fan... I'm planning on buying a couple of 1TB drives to put in the box and the budget for the bare box only is upto 150ish, but obviously if I can get away with less, all the better.
