Hi guys I got me a new LG 25UM64 monitor is ultra widescreen with an aspect ratio of about 21:9 The native resolution is 2560x1080. My problem is Im not able to run better resolution then 1920x1080.When i switch to 2560x1080 the picture is terrible Monitor is hooked up the DVI cable. my set up --- CPU i5 2500k VGA MSI GTX 560 Ti Win 7 ultimate 64 bit Do I need a different graphics card? Am I missing something? HELP! Thank you for any advice.
Your GPU shouldn't be an issue, Nvidia specs say multi monitor @ 2560x1600 Just a thought, is your DVI cable a Dual-link DVI, see picture, a screen with a 2560 x 1440 or 2560 x 1600 resolution would require a Dual-link DVI with a higher bandwidth supported, DVI Single link, HDMI and D-sub do not have the required bandwidth to support that full resolution.
did the monitor come with a disc?, it maybe that you need to install an inf file from that, 2560x1080 isn't a standard res it's 21:9
Thank you for inputs guys So far no luck, Yes i have right DVI cable i check it and i also installed all disc what i get with monitor. Also i have up to date GPU driver. Running out of options please help. THX
I have an Ultrawide and you need either a Dual link DVI with all the pins like this: Or a Displayport lead. The normal DVI leads don't have the bandwidth to display all those pixels, so it just reverts to 1080p
Thank you guys for all inputs. Yes i have DVI-D cable (24 pin) but does not work i don't understand why. But i solve the problem .My card has mini HDMI port so i get today mini HDMI/HDMI cable and all works great. Thanks
