Hi, As an avid reader of bit-tech and general lurker I thought it would be time to make myself known and ask for some help off you lovely bit-tech readers. As you may have guessed by the title I am after some help with proxies, so whats the problem you ask? I am currently a student who is using one of this rip off isp companies who prey on the weak and poor students, this isp thought they would be kind and ban all types of games unless you register to their more expensive package, yes what a joke idd. So after craving and not being able to gamble for many months it comes to the time that I wish to proxy around allowing me use of the software. So after my first attempt of finding some software I gain a virus! Great you think. So now am hating proxies already and search for some better free software. Finally I find a good one but you have to pay, again i am a student so do not wish to pay. For all you users thinking "what does he want this proxy for?", well as a poker player I need to forfill my degenerate gambling needs and waste away my student loans. Now for the facts: 1) I have access to a root server but only want to use this option if its easy to set up. 2) The proxy has to be to a european server, thank the poker gods for banning americans from playing on these servers... not. 3) I am from england so poker is legal. 4) Easy to use software is always nice, free please. 5) Super slow public ips for proxies are way to slow and hard to find a good one. So now I come looking for help off you lovely people. With such a lovely written masterpiece in front of your eyes your prob thinking, ""I must help this poor poor person out", so please do. Any help appreciated! On an unrelated topic, my lovely cpu's have been clocked at an impressive 80celsius when I run an app/boot pc etc. Would this be due to the heatsink not correctly touching or the heatsink paste etc needing reapplying?
Sounds like it could be either or both, I'd take it off and reapply it ASAP. 80 degrees isn't healthy Bump on the proxy issue, I know your pain. I'm behind one, none of the online activations or registrations that come with modern games work here. Lemme know if you figure out a workaround.
Most free proxies are fine for loading up webpages, but when it comes to downloading or playing games online I think you might struggle. The better once are those you have to pay monthly subscriptions for...but I suppose that would be defeating the object of paying less for your broadband.
