I just completed my watercooling rig. The only prob is that i cant gety my processor past 1655 mhz (144 fsb). It will go faster than that but wont run stable or wont load windows. What could be causing such a low overclock. I have ample cooling. :eyebrow: I have a giga-byte ga-7vrxp a radeon 8500 and 512 of pc2100.

Something is limiting your FSB, the best thing to do would be to unlock the CPU IMHO.

i would say that it your ram thats stopping you from getting further.

as its PC2100, its default is 133. and, if its a single, 512mb stick, then these are notorious for being poor clockers, or at least no where near as good as 256mb sticks. I run a PC2100 stick @ 155 fsb, and thats as far as it can go stable.

another thing that could be your problem is a PCI card. take out all PCI cards (if this is possible for u) and then try.

if this doesnt work, unlock that chip!

Have you tried increasing your vcore a little? Other than that, I would agree with Muse in that something else is holding you back, like a PCI card, Ram or other chipset!

Thxs for the quick response.... I have tryed playing with the core voltage and this yeilded little results. I dont use a pci card so it cant be that :) So i guess its my stick of 512 ram. Guess Ill have to unlock my cpu :(
