I'd say Hizbollah has won this round. Modern war is a public relations game and nations that don't understand that end up in places like Iraq and Lebanon.
The artical is factualy incorrect, it was an Iranian anti-ship missile launched under the guidence of Iranian advisors. http://www.forbes.com/home/feeds/ap/2006/07/15/ap2880884.html http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/world/4048976.html And as for the PR front, my wife is in Beruit right now and she says most people are pretty angry at Hezbollah for starting all this. http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/world/15046824.htm http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-nasrallah15jul15,1,7825566.story?coll=la-headlines-world Having actualy live there for some time, I can tell you this, the lebanese really liked having peace and quiet. They got used to having normal lives. And they all know this would never have happened if Hezbollah hadn't snatched those 2 guys. They also know why Israel has to respond so harshly and why the 2 lives are so important. They had 20 years of war, which the Israelis were a large part of. So, no, I don't think Hezbollah has quite won anything. This could, in fact go very badly for them.
