    Step forward to the shrine of Relix to worship and be anointed...
    (Also, bring cheesecake - seriously. Failure to do so will...well, you've seen Indiana Jones right? Think ark of the covenant.)

    I have no idea why this thread is stickied or why it's being bumped, but;

    It's for your own good and the good of the whole forum. I literally DGAF if typing in good english is important to the members of this forum or not, but I don't want to be deciphering l33t speak or "incredibadly" written forum posts in 6 months time, and at the rate we're going, that's exactly how it's going to be.

    Well played. You missed the full stop though (or rather the lack of it).

    Oi! I do it for the good of the forum. My grammar corrections have nothing to do with my mood... I will correct you if you're wrong, no matter what.

    Unicorn has a capital, bro. And it doesn't wind me up, I just don't want to see bit-tech descend into a state of uneducated stupidity with posts like;

    Oh who am I kidding, I can't write convincingly in bad English...

    GG, Carrie.

    :sigh:

    Now now... I know that you do. And atheism is bad for you. It's better to believe in something than nothing at all.

    I don't see how that changes anything. Would believing in whatever god make me move my ass and lose weight ? I don't think so. Now, would not believing change anything ? I don't think so either

    I was speaking from a Christian point of view. No offence, but you clearly didn't get it... If you want me to explain it, I will - but I fear it will strike controversy and start an argument.

    I almost forgot; Oh hai thur to all the new members who have joined recently and said hello in this thread. 2011 seems to have brought a surge of new members to bit-tech. I like it :)

    Atheism does not equal nihilism.
    That is all.

    I know it doesn't, but again, you misunderstood what I meant by my comment.

    Let's not turn this thread into a religion bashing exercise, boy I would love to be able to have a thread on here to discuss religion in a sensible grown up way but you just know it can never happen.

    :waah:

    religion has started more wars than anything else in the history of mankind. how do you expect a bunch of strangers on an internet forum to talk about it without getting all riled up?

    I love how this thread is now a religion rant, and one of the tags is necrophilia.

    Yes I do actually, why would you not be able to have a constructive and educated discussion about it?

    Religion itself does not start wars.

    That is an interpretation of religious texts, could you site references and sources for your statement?

    In the same way as Atheism =/= Nihilism, Christianity =/= Religion.

    Who's ranting? I said "Atheism is bad for you" and you think I'm mad? Talk about your all time massive misinterpretations...

    Sorry dude, but I have to. Cite & site aren't interchangeable.

    That is not always what religious war boils down to, in my opinion, religious war is often more about the practice of different faiths or religions in a country where it is the minority. It's more territorial than anything. And again I have to make it clear because so many people misunderstand the difference, that Christianity is not a religion, and Christians do not go to war with people of other beliefs or faiths. Those people can call themselves Christians all day long, but if you're going out and killing people because they believe something different to you, or because they live and practice their faith in your country, then you are not a Christian.

    I'm not trying to turn this thread into a massive argument, so if it looks that way, please don't assume that's my intention. I just feel it's necessary to make sure that my beliefs and opinions are made totally clear so nobody gets any ill-informed negative opinions about me. Living and growing up in a country that has been torn apart in the past by conflict that was based around religious differences means I have a different view of this to many of you anyway (and also probably means that I have stronger feelings about it than most) but I'm sure most of you will be able to see where I'm coming from.
