My main issue is how this will be the first thing any new bit-techer sees. It's a tad unnerving.

If you want to comment about religion, I just feel there should be another thread.

 

Well, you've got a point there. At the very least a mod could split and move this to serious I suppose. It would save closing the thread.

 

I'm not really sure what you're getting at.
It was never my intention to make fun of Unicorn, and if my posts had come across as such I am certain that Unicorn would have let me know, and I would have apologised and rephrased my statement. We're having a debate; he speaks his mind, and I speak mine. Not once has he, nor I, to my knowledge, made any ridiculing comments - it's just a debate, and I am certain that Unicorn can stand his corner.

I honestly do not have any problem that he is a christian - I don't agree with his beliefs, but I accept them as his, as he does mine. My problem was with his statement that christianity is not a religion, and we were discussing this. That's all. No jokes have been made, no-one has been ridiculed - we're just debating from differing frames of mind. I honestly do not see the problem.

True, it is not relevant to the OP, but the OP was left a good number of posts ago. However, if a mod wanted to split this thread then that would be fine of course.

The only religions on Bit-Tech you need to worry about are Relix and cheesecake. Intricately intertwined.

 

It's a discussion that should have been put in the "Serious" section, rather than discussed here, and it was I who started the discussion of it here, so I apologise for that. But the rest of bit-tech does not need to be above it. If a topic is raised that sparks a long discussion between people of varying opinions and beliefs, then it's a good discussion and we all learn a lot more about each other from it. It's just that in this case, the topic happened to be people's religion, faith or spiritual beliefs, instead of the latest big news story, or the changes Apple are making in iOS 5 etc etc.
