i work for a company that design stuff usuing auto cad we have a brand new server which is running 4 gig of ram a 775lg cpu i thinks thats rite an fx6200 graphics card all on a gigga byte case and mobo. it keeps crashing and usuing my temperature and fan controller from my pc have recorded temperature like this cpu 30-37 degrees c graphic card 44 to 65 degrees c north bridge chip cooler 46 to 63 hard drive 3 off 160 gig samsug 25to 36 we keep geting corrupt file on the hottest on have stuffed case full of fan but still cant get temp doen i think this is cousing the crashing problem so boss has asked me to investagate water cooling quite like the aqua gate system he says i can spend up to 200 piounds and duno where to go from there the server is not used hard anf only has 9 computers connected to it and probable only two at most at a time working from it etting cad files off one hard drive or up dating out data base on one of the one any helps or recommeddations to cool this hot server down wood be greet server is about 2 months old and comapany that built it dont wanna no now i am a pretty advanced pc er annd have modded two cases but never done water cooling
Try giving memtest86 a run as well. About the only temp that looks out of place (assuming they're close to accurate) is the Northbridge temp, try a new cooler there?
not tryin to be a jerk, as i am the last guy who should say anything about grammar and puntuation, mostly because i think once your out of english class who gives a crap, but my god man, try to make a little sense. im surprised krikkit didnt say something o.0temps dont seem to be the issue...like krikkit said try memtest86...or like doug said it could be the hd, or both...
What psu do you have running that stuff? is it powerful enough? also the only high temp is your northbridge try adding a fan to it.
agreed, northbridge is a little bit hot, everything else is fine, have you removed the heatsink on it? if so make sure you clean off and replace the thermal compound. Dont even think of adding water to a server. If the the crashs happen more frequently the longer you have it on, the chances are its heat, if its totally random it could be the RAM or PSU, try memtest as already mentioned, whats you PSU rated at? 300-600w? The list of problems could be endless, so take one step at a time, ive seen damaged IDE ribbons create all sorts of problems so dont rule out anything until youve tested it
first off where is the server? is it in a hot stuffy room with no air flow? move the machine out into the middle of the room if you can and really load it up with tasks to stress it. I remember back in my old school are servers were in a cupboard all rack mount 4u servers temps on idle were fine but when all servers fired up with tasks the room was hitting 45 degrees C. 2 servers blown and we got Aircon and dropped the room temp to 15 degrees C. that was 8 servers tho so that wud explain the temps. more info tho. is the server a rackmount or slung under a desk? it may have fans but is the airflow good in the case? try big file transfers when you know the CPU and north bridge are cool. And most importly listen to the other guys here because they dont rant like me! lol!
use speedfan to get temps. should give hdd temps as long as the drives support. it'll also allow you to check smart status of the drives too which should show any issues. nb temp looks fine, 63 isnt hugely hot assuming thats a load temp...
may sound silly and a little risky but you could remove the covers and run it open with a desk fan blowing air into it... that way the temps should be lower and if the crashes stop then as you said its a heat issue. personally i would never put water anywhere near a business server. And as already mentioned by Burnout21 and from my experiance from working on a schools system, cool the room pref with AC.
