People who have headlights that are slightly loose, so when they go over the tiniest bump it makes them shake around. It's annoying when they're following you.

Maybe it depends on your lights or its just a personal preference. My dad always buys brighter lights. Our dim lights often give better visibility than high beams, but they dont blind people because they are adjusted correct. My dad made an extra switch in his old car so when you have the high beams on you can flip the switch and the lights get even brighter. Its because it has 4 headlights so the high beams are separate from the low beams so the switch turns them all on. Something like that. Anyways its super bright, illegal, and will make anyone dim their lights from MILES away. :)

You are one of those 85% I was talking about earlier. It is called being respectful and polite to other drivers when you turn your high beams off. As long as I can see tail lights or headlights I dont have my high beams on. Even if it is on a divided highway.

Get brighter headlights. Get some 80/100 watt bulbs and adjust them properly. If you still cant see good enough with low beams get off the road. You want to be able to see the deer so you dont hit them but what about the other people on the road. You driving with your high beams reduces their visibility. Some time you will have your high beams on and the oncoming car will flash theirs to get you to turn yours off but you dont so they leave theirs on. You then cant see the deer on the side of the road which runs infront of you just after the other car passes. All because you were to rude to turn them off.

As I said. Get some nice 80/100 watt bulbs and have them adjusted properly. You should be able to see just fine with the low beams and you wont piss off other drivers.

Otherwise, dont drive over here. I will blind you with my high beams. ;)

That's exactly what pisses me off, people who are too rude to turn their lights down for a few seconds, because then I can't see worth crap and end up having to pull over for a few minutes before I can see again -.-

Wow that looks pretty sweet. I'm using standard 50W halogens for dipped, then another set lights up for main beam. That pretty much illuminates everything for quite a distance. The car gets forded a lot so the lamps fill with water but seem to only drain to half empty. This makes for some interesting effects!

You should try driving a low car in front of a HID-bearing Range Rover. I was getting a tan in the shape of my rear-view mirror. Flip the mirror up and you realise you're no better off because both side mirrors are slowly cooking your face too. Happy times.

And drive with FULL Lights + High Beams + Blink all the time ;) And enjoy.

10K is the colour temperature, not the light output. 5K is actually the most visible to the human eye apparently.

In town we just got a new roundabout and since we live in FL, nobody knows how to drive in one. we get people who stop in the middle of them all the time. Thankfully my dad was born and raised in Norwich and has taught me well.

I know what you mean.. imagine what it's like in Miami, in Coral Gables, where they don't believe in stop signs and have round-abouts EVERYWHERE
    (Granted, they're fun to hit at 35mph :D )

Haha yea.. Some SUV was tailgating me with his high-beams on, temperature immediately started climbing and I had to turn the A/C up o.o

yes those are the ultimate lights. But I think those are very costly, or am I wrong? I would love to get HID lights in our cars, but its so expensive.

some of my friends tend to slow down very fast and force the other guy to go around them or to shut down their high beams.

Wow, that's a real shithead thing to do. You may be able to see more easily, but I think you'll change your mind when an oncoming vehicle crashes because you've blinded them.
You deserve to have your nuts in a vice while everyone you've blinded flashes you with their high beams.

They were £70 a year ago, and they've come down in price since.

The problem with HIDs is that if you just drop the bulbs into your headlights, you'll blind everyone.

HIDs only belong behind projector lenses designed to be used with HIDs... which have a cutoff shield so that the light doesn't shine up, only down, like so:

Unfortunately, to install HID projectors into a car that didn't come with them requires a lot of custom fabrication and wiring... HID projectors retrofitted into a regular headlight housing tend to run about $500.

SUVs always bother me... if you drive a normal car, their headlights shine right into your window, because the lights are like 3-4 feet off the ground, not 1.5-2 feet like a normal car.

The thing that always gets me with SUVs is when you're at a stop sign, and there's busy traffic, and you're trying to make a right turn, and there's some stupid soccer mom trying to make a left turn. [I live in the US, so to turn right you only need traffic to be clear in one direction - to turn left it has to be clear in both, so it takes much longer to turn left if there's traffic]. They always pull out really far into the road, even though there's traffic and they can't turn. Then, in a normal size car, you can't see over them, and if you go out any further into the road than they are, you'll get hit, so even though you might be able to turn right, you can't see more than 10 feet down the road because her fender is blocking your view, so you have to wait for her to turn before you being able to turn.

All this talk of high beams reminds me of the time I saw a cop driving down the road with his search light on. Now that in your mirror is painful. He drove with it on for a good couple miles before he realized.

Backing out of a parking spot sucks here. I'm always surrounded by SUVs hanging out of the spots so I can't see if anyone's coming. So I just go and hope anyone that's coming stops. :/ That's one of the reasons I've started parking farther away from buildings--that and the dings in my door. :sigh:

Yes that is what I was thinking about being so expensive about HID headlights.

I wouldnt want to just buy the bulbs. I would want to get it done properly which is very expensive.
