How can i reduce my cs ping it very high ardoun 170+ at times is there any patches i can download etc??
What connection are you on? Have you checked to see if theres any spyware and/or programs running in the background on your pc? Have you set your rates up in cs?
open net_graph 3 and see if it says you have any chocke or loss if none then proceed to adjust your rate cl_cmdrate cl_updaterate i use : rate 20000 cl_cmdrate 101 cl_updaterate 101 adjust your settings according to what the net_graph3 tells you... if you still have problems lagging then you could go to umm ... what's that site called broadband test or something to download the patch ... i can't remember site maybe someone can enlighten us lol
usually, never set it to those high settings unless you are on a lan... cl_updaterate and cl_cmdrate can be set as low as you need for a good connection, but try to keep them close in value. after each time you change it, set ex_interp 0... this will force your interp rate to the bext rate for your settings... people will start moving funny, but don't worry and keep changing the two values (and using ex_interp 0) all the time until the people move properly. that is then your best rate/
yea might use those lan setting since im on a home network with heavy users on the other computers at times
can you not restrict the other peoples computers via yours for when you go online or something? theres a few programs that can starve computers on a lan of bandwidth, but i cant remember the names of them right now.
yes I'm saying thos ehigh rates due to the fact that all servesr in hon gkong are adsl definately and im using 1.5meg so those settings never choke or lag me ... and its almost like playing on LAN I get an average of 15~ ping 30 highest and more on lamer servers... cl_interp values other than 1 i think are illegal in competitions as pepole found a way to cheat ... there are loads of articles WHY i cann't remember myself and I wont be bothred to explain some servers force u to use the value of 1 anyway ...
well try rate 14000 cl_cmdrate 60 cl_updaterate 60 the reason why I use it so high is u have to see that servers are very close by in hongkong so there isn't really a lag issue at all ... in UK im not sure just look at your net_graph 3 and adjust your rate 20000 maximum don't go above unless u have like 1000000000000mb connection ... and adjust it just below choke ... if you get choke or loss it's time to decrease your cl_cmdrate and cl_updaterate a bit ...
