I have just ordered my x800xl graphics card from www.overclockers.co.uk and will be getting it tomorrow. >Here< is the link, second one down.

    I have an AMD 64 3000+ and 512mb of pc3200 (3-3-3-8).
I was wondering what type of levels of detail could i run modern games at with it? And what FPS? Such as Battlefield 2, Call of Duty 2. Also CS:S which i have never played before.

Also what type of 3dmarks will i be getting?

I know i need to upgrade to atleast 1gb for games now but i have a dilema:
Shall i either buy a 1gb corsair module so i have 1.5gb or shall i sell my ram and get some speedy (2-2-2-6) ram? Is it worth all the hastle for low latency?

Thank you all and hello as i am new to the forums!

(I am 16 by the way, lol)

I'd sell the old ram get a gig of high quality ram, so that it still runs in dual channel

I have a Gigabyte x800XL (with a passive heatpipe) on my stock AMD64 3700 and 2 gigs of memory. I run older games at 1280 x 1024 w/everything on high and 2-4x AA with 2-8x AF. Most newer games (BF2, Doom 3, FEAR, Q4 etc) at 1024 x 768 with settings on medium to high.

It's hard to tell between 1 gig and 2 sometimes since it's only really noticable in cutting loading times and in BF2.

I'd go for the speedier 1gig RAM instead of 1.5 gigs.
