Battle of Los Angeles by RATM is better, the bass solo intro on Calm Like a Bomb is great sounding and quite easy to play

I personally wouldnt buy an acoustic first, and just stick with an electric guitar. It may not seem so, but there is a fair few differences between playing acoustic and electric, one such reason being that the neck on an acoustic tends to be wider than the neck on an electric.

Whatever instrument you decide out of electric and bass, go take a few lessons to learn the basic skills required, along with some musical "theory" which would come in very handy later on in your learning. Then go off and learn how to read tab music, then once you're able to do so, you can then simply print off loads of tab sheets for loads of songs, and learn them!

Oh hell yea. Even though Morello is the kingshit of main guitarists the bass tracks are the king. You're forgetting Gurellia Radio!

    Why not Keyboards ? :naughty:
With keyboards you can play almost every musical instrument.Plug it to your soundcard with a decent software and...that's it. You have bass, drums, guitar, strings, any instrument you want. :)

Drums? doesn't require much learning and if you practice just a once or twice a week you will get really good quickly...but some people can just be hopeless at it try it you never know

If you're going to learn guitar I strongly advise starting on acoustic and moving onto electric.

First of all anyone who learns on an electric and then picks up an acoustic will find it incredibly difficult to play. Acoustic guitars have a much higher action and if you learn how to play one of them fairly well then switching to electric will be easy as hell.

Plus, respect++ for anyone who can play an acoustic well. It aint easy. Electric guitarists on the other hand are ten a penny and stopped impressing me a while ago unfortunately.
