It's a BBC programme on the square box in the corner with moving pictures in it.

That's who she was (although i didn't know myself) and Holby City was a follow-up to the old classic of casualty...

I used to watch casualty as well, it was replaced ages ago with Holby City which was totally crap IMO, it was trying to be casualty without actually bothering to have any accidents or anything interesting go on...

Holby City didn't 'replace' Casualty - It's a spin off series. Both run weekly, Casualty on Saturdays and HC on Tuesdays. I should know, Mrs GOO watches it religiously. Me - I can't watch it. After you've watched ER, it all looks a bit tame TBH.

Sad news about the actress. There have been rumours in the press that a mixture of drugs and booze contributd to the accident.

Well, I watch holby and have to say I am saddened by her death, it's a tragedy for anyone so young to die in such an accident - she was apparently a lovely person as well.

My heart really does go out to her family, having to turn the life support off on a child has to be one of the most terrible things any parent could ever have to do....

Imagine the last thing to experience in life having fun at a party one minute and falling 40 feet onto your head... I don't care what drugs are involved, that's pretty horrific.

It was in the papers around the time of the accident - mostly the tabloids, so no real evidence.

How Ironic. She plays a character that dies after falling out a window in Grange Hill, she then plays a nurse in a hospital drama. Now she's fallen from balcony and spent her last days in a real hospital....

Just to elaborate on the "spin off" element.

Casualty is downstairs in the hospital Holby General - the Accident and Emergency department.

Holby City is upstairs, covering AAU (Acute Admissions Unit), another ward, maternity and the operating theatres.

The rumours were that George Calil and Laura Sadler had been drinking and taking cocaine the evening before her fall. The police arrested Calil, after she was found, for supplying Class A drugs. He was released without charge.

Because there are millions of people who watch holby city and have an interest in the characters and the people who play them. Are you saying that if say, The Queen, fell out of a window then that shouldn't be reported either?

It's hardly 'hoo haa', someone who is well known to millions of people on TV died, so it gets in the papers. I think you'll find that if a scaffolder did the same thing it'd make at least *some* papers, but the area of effect is less so it doesn't get as wide a coverage. It would more than likely be over the local papers for the area.

Nasty, I feel really sorry for her family! Where did you hear about the face thing, that hasn't been publicised, mind you it's not hard to see why.

    RIP
