    Hi guys

Am I going mad, or was Homefront on Steam, but has now disappeared??

I just found it curious as it's released today...

I would read up on it first if I were you - it is being fairly universally panned!

It was a licensing issue with Steam in the UK, they made a statement about it.

If you buy it on Direct2Drive they'll simply email you a steam code to download it in steam.

    Silly eh.

Don't buy it. Single Player is terrible.

I went in expecting to play a young Patrick Swaze.

Instead I entered a world of invisible walls, crappy game mechanics, bugs, and pointless stilted NPCs.

I'll play it though just to watch the story, but it's feeling like hard work already and I'm only 2 levels in.

Maybe the story will make up for it?

How's the MP rogan tried it at all? I always thought this looked like it had some decent ideas but also thought it looked like it could be dodgy

The devs said it in a few interviews, and when you look at their past games it makes sense. They said in one interview it was about making the ideas from Frontlines more polished and more acceptable.

I tend not to judge games by a trailer, as its often made by a publisher or someone completely disconnected from the actual development. Or just lots of explosions to make it look cool, or completely CG.....

I'll give it a shot and see.

e: Yeah MP is pretty good, looks like it'll be a nice change.

SP still sucks really badly though.

Yes, if you want a 5 year old multi-player experience.

Then spent a lot of time polishing a t*rd.

They could have just purchased and reskinned BF2's initial release engine and saved a lot of time, trouble, and money.

Don't get me wrong, BF2 is a great game, but it started off buggy, and how old is it at this point? Imagine if it was released today in that same condition, bugs and all, how would it stand up to todays games?.. THAT is what Homefront multiplayer is.

Also, I liked the idea of the single player campaign, they at least had a story, but it feels like they glanced over a LOT of details and then, not only is it short, clunky and guided, it ends as soon as you get to a turning point in the story, in which case you are now expected to wait for Homefront 2.

The best thing about MP is the lack of lag. Hit detection is great.

    Worst thing is the snipers...

I brought this game on disc, although when I went to install it, steam simply downloaded the game instead lol

Either way, I have it, the single player is sub par Half life 2 wannabe.

The multi-player is superb! A real surprise, takes the best from COD and BFBC2 and adds its much lauded Battle Points to create a really well balanced and engaging multi-player experience.

After months of BLOPS, BFBC2 vanilla and Veitnam, this is a very pleasant and refresh multi-player title.

I hope it get promoted soon on UK Steam, it deserves it.

Loads of multi-player servers, no crashes, good engine, 9/10 for the multi-player, 6/10 for the single player.

My quick video, I'm no good yet!

That video reminds me a lot of the MoH multiplayer - i.e. Battlefield-esque gameplay with killstreaks, low health, and weapons with almost no recoil whatsoever.
