I will be having a need to hook my PS3 up to one of my monitor in the near future. And while my monitors are HDCP compliant they do not have HDMI ports. I was wondering if something like this would do the trick. http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...d=1041902&p_id=2081&seq=1&format=1#largeimage The reason is i am going to have to put alot of my stuff into storage and will not have room for my current tv.
I don't have a PS3.. but how do you output the audio from the HDMI?! Don't you need to extract it? or does the PS3 has other audio out source which you can use?
You can specify where you want your audio out to be when using HDMI. My own setup is HDMI from PS3 to monitor sending video only. RCA audio out converted to 3.5mm jack going to PC line-in. PC then plays audio out to my headset or speakers or both. PC also has DVI out going to the same monitor as the PS3 and VGA to a second monitor. So yes, you can send audio out to another source. I just like to show off my setup. I believe there is an optical audio out if you wanted better quality, though.
lol. well going to a 24: in my case is a big step down in my case i'm losing abour 70" of display area
