Got these for my son's birthday and am now hopelessly addicted!

The graphics and AI are freakin incredable! I'm telling you, my kids don't realize how good they have it that their father (me) likes the same kind of stuff that they do ;)

You rock my friend. My dad has always supported my gaming. He's always made sure I've had access to video games + I love him for it. I learned how to distinguish left + right by playing games on our BBC micro. I knew Z was left and X was right and I could remember which way round they where on the keyboard :p That was about 22 years ago. He still buys me games sometimes :D I feel lucky and I'm sure your kids will too ;)

Nope - 12 and 14.. I'm not one of those parents who subscribe to the violent games theory - if the game is rated "M" or "T", then I will check out the game first and if I feel it's okay, then I'll buy it. That said, I refuse to buy then Grand Theft Auto or anything similar to that.

Well, considering we all pretty much like the same kinds of stuff, then it benefits all of us - besides that, they are farther along on Halo2 than I am. ;) Hell, I just bought a 2nd xbox 3 weeks ago and plan on buying a 3rd after the holidays so we can all have our own and play multiplayer games without splitscreen.

If they were on the xbox, I probably would. I get tired of always spending money to upgrade my computer because the newest game won't run on current hardware. That's why I went pretty much strictly console for any gaming and leave the pc for other things.

good news! hl2 is being ported to xbox. as for whether it will retain its amazingness after being watered down (control wise), remains to be seen.

ah i had gta when i was 12... slightly different then of course, use ur cluster of yellow and red pixels to fire a grey pixel at the cluster of blue pixels chasing u, hmmmm...

i agree with u tho, gta3 onwards is a bit much for younger children, especially those that are easily influenced, if thats a recognised condition...

I remember reading an interview after the release of GTA2 that stated something along the lines of 'They'll never let us make a 3D GTA!'

I may purchase an Xbox at some point...probably second hand.

Go for it.. Got my 2nd Xbox 2nd hand for $100usd with 2 controllers & all cables. Am going to try and turn it into a dvd/divx player too with the mod chip. No, I'm not going to play burned games, that's not what I want to teach my kids.

My friend can do this with surprising ease. It's really cool how it gets set up. He made it to be like a file server/media center. Its got a 200gig with back up files, Plays movies/dvds, winamp radio, and Games. Just make sure you don't use it for online gaming.

No online gaming, don't want to spend the monthly fees. I'm still strying to figure all that out - got the hardware part done, can't figure out the software end of it (bios flashing).

Ghost Recon 2 is nearly as good as Halo 2, the story line isn't as cool or interesting, but everything else about it is great! I like to play co-op too, but most of the time, I like adversarial mode with the system link. That's why I have multiple xbox's - adversarial on split screen is kind of like cheating ;) If you liked the 1st Ghost Recon, you'll LOVE GR2..
