I'm not an expert on plastics or anything, but a quick search on google about maximum operating temperatures of acrylic(http://www.ridoutplastics.com/faq.html) is 180f/82.2c!! (before it starts to deform) I would have to question what that guy was trying to cool :D :D Maybe *mat-ster* can confirm this?

Yeh guy's I know - I was surprised by that too - just sayin' what happened to Armitage on these forums! Don't shoot the messenger please! :worried: -

Also found this on 'Maze 3 is here - soon' thread written by mat-ster himself:-

    Hope that answers your questions
    :)

Never know- this might have been a teething problem with early production blocks - might have been sorted in the U.K. by now? Just recommending the OCPC as it's made of ****ing thick LEXAN so it ain't gonna have any probs for b1g d0g if he uses one :)

lol..sorry Coolrunnin :D Just sounded a bit fishy to me :sigh:

Is there a dependable site out there that has done a review of the Neptune waterblocks? And is it readily available? The maze3's are too new and i've only read one review on it (and it did seem a bit biased).

The only thing that seems strange to me is why DD would have chosen an inferior material for their new waterblocks. I mean they are a pretty big player in this market, why risk it? Is there really a big risk of cracking/warping when its so small a piece?

    Sorry b1g d0g i think we hijacked your thread a bit :(

*edit - holy smokes i just noticed that its $65 usd for those blocks..yikes..

No probs scopE M8 - I get why you were sus - I would be if some relative noob came along dissin' products without facts :)

Yeah, it is wierd how DD have apparently made this mess up with material selection:eyebrow: maybe it's due to the fact that they are such a major player and have a huge demand that Lexan worked out to be too expensive to produce - guess we need a DD insider :D

About those blocks being $65US remember that in the U.K. things are stoopidly expensive to start with (a maze 2 comes in at around that price over here  !) so it's really not as expensive as it seems to you - at least your country actually prices things sensibly :sigh: !

B1g d0g - If you're going to get the swifty then you might wanna make sure you get the newset version if you get the 462 - I think it's the MCW-462-U 'cos there are still some old MCW-462-Bs around that aren't quite as good. Still works though :) There's no new block to replace the socket mounted variety s far as I know. Jus one (more  ) word or advice - get a block which mounts to the holes round the socket, if your motherboard allows. Just a bit more secure that's all :)

Haddy - gotta be impressed with DD if they answer all your tech queries - that's pretty good :)
