Hi all, I wondering, is there any way to find out how big the page file is at any time? I know how to set the minimum and maximum sizes, but I'm interested in how much of this is being used. I've searched for pagefile.sys but can't find it (have enabled hidden files and folders).
Go onto the performance tab on Task Manager and it's at the bottom of "System" on the bottom right. I am assuming of course that Windows 7's Task Manager is the same layout as Vista's..
Thanks, so obvious now ^^ Looks like it's set out a bit differently from Vista - it has Applications, Processes, Services, Performance, Networking and Users across the top. Is it Commit (MB)? Currently around 2117 out of 8188. And is this total virtual memory (ie ram + page)?
Virtual memory is the page file I believe, physical memory is your actual RAM. An 8 gig page file sounds about right though.
It's surely a 4GB page file + 4GB of RAM, not just the paging file at 8GB? Mine reads 2030 of 6133 and I don't run an HDD paging file (this way I can semi-justify all that expensive RAM) so I'd guess they're added together rather than just one or the other.
