i'm pretty new to modding. so of course the first things i did were buy some looming for the mess of wires i have and picked up a cold cathode but when i was installing the cathode i was unplugging onr of the wires that goes into the inverter (i think that's what it's called) anyways one of the wires ripped right out of the little plasitc conecter . so i stripped the wire and shoved it back in there but it doesn't stay there very well... if for example i move my computr or anything it falls out. how can i get the wire back in the connecter the way it's supposed to be?
in the plug, there is a gold/copper tube, take some tweezers pull it out, put the wire back in, secure it byclamping it a lil bit... thats how i did it
It won't be soldered, although you could probably use some solder to fix it back in place properly. To get the tube out of the connector, try pushing a tiny screwdriver into the end and moving it around until you feel a little "tab", then push down on it and the tube should just slide straight out. Then it's just a case of opening the tube up, clamping the wire back in, and using a bit of solder to make sure it stays there Sorry if I didn't explain that very well, if you need any more details just ask me.
Superglue, Duck Tape or Solder it back in, or you could use my old standby - blutack! (Blutack is holding my GeForce 2 in ATM)
Come on guys, it's duct tape. Duck is actually a brand of Duct tape. I'd know - I live in a place where we use it to hold our cars together.
thanks. for the help. i managaged to get in working again. though i did a TERRIABLE soldering job. seeing as it was only my second time.
no way it could be worse that my fiends connectios he had some super overpowerd iron it vaporized the traces on the circuitboard if it works you did a good job
hey, never diss your own soldering jobs. I'm sure we've all seen (and done) worse. And I stress again the need to insulate it. Electrical tape should work okay.
stick it back in the connector and fill the back with hot glue, that way it cant come loose again. Always works like a charm.
