Are there websites which tell you where and when computer fairs on? I always hear about htem here 'but have never seen anything about them around.....I live norrth london, near hampstead...
There is a regular one in Central (Tottenham Court Road) some others can be ound here http://www.computerfairs.co.uk/
The main ones around where I live are listed in the local weekly newspaper but I don't know about London.
In Micromart magazine each week, it tells you exactly when and where all the fairs will be that week.
I think the net is cheaper anyway, unless you're buying cables and the like. I certainly wouldn't buy any significant hardware from a fair. If you do go though - get there early!
www.computermarkets.co.uk for all Northern and Scottish fairs. I found out about the first fair I went to from the local rag. I think you can get some great bargins at fairs. You have to remember that there is no P&P on the new case that you want to but, etc... I'm off to my local fair on Monday to try and pick up a new cpu, hard drive, case, floppy drive, and maybe a CD/DVD ROM for the wifes new machine. Meblin
have checked all sites and newspapers, there dont seem to be any in North London, could this be the case?
This could very well be the case. The organisers need to find a venue that: Is available Reasonably priced easily accessible by the masses [/list=a] In London, venues will charge an arm and a leg. This will be passed onto the traders and then onto you. The one in Tottenham Court Road area is readily accessilbe (ie the tube) by many and is centrally located so will get people from all areas going. The last time I went there it wasn't very good, but that was about 5 years ago so things have probably changed. Look for a fair just out of London that you can get to as the prices might be a little cheaper, due to lower overheads, etc... Meblin
There are some computer fairs in Hertfordshire, but I wouldn'd drive far for them. They can be good for picking up cheap second hand nik nacs, but for new stuff www.ebuyer.com has great prices. P+P is £6, but entry to a fair is £3, you also ger some sort of guarantee is something goes wrong. Micromart has a good fair listing section, it may be available on their website whch I think is www.micromart.co.uk
