no! one of the blacks on the mobo plug. wire up a switch on the wire that linking the 2 so you can turn it on and off.

The big bundle of wires that goes into your mobo, Take the green, and one black from that bundle, and wire them to a switch,

Stand well back and plug it in

the u.s. is way too warranty dependant for a oc store to do well enuff to be worth the trouble .... thats why we all depend on hardware/ home improvement places for everything

The problem with ATX PSU's is they have to be connected to the mobo to power on. There are some work arounds. Basically, you can do it by jumpering pins on the ATX connector. I have seen people also throw in a switch in the jumper wire so you can control PSU from the front panel. I thought about doing this because I was going to use a dedicated PSU for non component items like lights etc... here are some articles:

    Hi All (My First Post)

Im building a media server and eventually plan to have 20 250 gb sata drives in it but im gona add them as needed ( Not Raid )

Now im gona get three 480w psus and plan to connect them so they all come on together by using realys powered off a molex, im acually gona build a power control box in ther server with a molex input and two plugs thatll take the atx motherboard connectors incase they need to be changed quickly and easily.

My question is people have told me that switching psu need load on all the lines of the psu now this isnt a prob for the 12v and 5v lines but as i can see the 3.3v line is only used by the mobo so do i need to put false load on this line. Or in the way i see it does the psu just need load on it no matter what lines are loaded as long as there is some load.

Thanks for the help. :D :D

I have wired three dual PSU rigs and never put a dummy load in any of 'em.
    Your results may vary....

I've wired two PSUs in my server but I've only loaded the 5/12V lines. I agree with clocker!
