I was just wondering if someone could explain how PC case modding started? I know it originally came from the LAN party scene but I want to know who was the first person to mod a case and who brought it into the main stream. Thanks
The first time I heard it was from HardOCP, a few years back with blowholes. But I couldn't tell you who started it.
i remember a while back(few years) i saw some1 fitting a window in factory machinary so they could see where it went wrong so it could have started from that
My guess is it all started with paint... As we all know, beige is a VERY ugly color. Just my two cents.
i wanted to start painting my case when i was around 12 and then i found MODDING SITES so here i am, addicted to it, wasting most of my money where i worked for it on it
Dont know about when it got into the main stream. For me it started in 95 i spent much time avoiding uni, had a beige box, watched 2001.. spend too much time making HAL . with a great little eye on the front and everything. the box finnaly went in the bin last week after sitting empty on the top of me wardrode for about a year.
ummm I would have to say that the Celeron case with the blowhole is the first documented modding......As the first project, that would have to be the Enlight painted metallic blue and the Unreal cutout on the top left side (they cut out a window and used the extra metal for the jagged "u") Lemme get some linkage, one sec
well not all corp sloths made beige cases. SGI has been making sifferent color and styles for a long time. as have other makers. Maybe that is the start?
I used to work in GAME (The games software shops) and when Worms was released we had a special all-pink PC to demo it on - no windows, but it was a custom paint job (albeit for a software company). (edit: spelling)
