On accident... I found a link to a case that a guy on Honda-Acura.net was buying... that lead me to a link, to a link, etc... and I got stuck... h:
I was on overclockersclub.com and browsing the case galleries when i found ZapWizards LanPC.. pow zoom rushed over too look at it and then followed the link on how to make it.. suddenly found myself in a world where everyone did this sortof thing.. I felt so.. so.. at home, so i decided to join and thus here I am right now!
i found bit while searching google for the hard drive window mod, and this guy named "linear" was mentioned. well this linear character knew what he was up to and i decided to stay
i'm a long time member of the [H].....and i saw a link somewhere to some bit-tech mods....after looking at the project logs section....i just got hooked.....
I found it because of a refference from another forum where someone was talking about Gnome's ORAC. I would wager there are alot of folks that have the same reason.
i was looking for a new case and found xoxide.com and started looking around for modding sites, found Bit through Google (glorious god of search...all praise ). I think i had found a link to the sticky for Orac3 and got hooked. like so many...<see above ^^^>
Some one at VHforums.net made the comment, "we need more electrical experst like at bit-tech.net" so I came over for a look and got stuck. Then VH forums started to get repetative and I just knid of got bored of reading them.
One random night I was just surfing the net (shortly after I injured my back) and stumbled accross ZapWizards site, read through the whole site that night, and then went back the next day and re-read his site again. Then about a week or two later decided to click on the link to bit-tech that was on his media center computer, and the rest is history. And I must say, I'm very glad I'm here now. Gives me something to do finaly!
I used to mostly lurk (like here ) at the overclockingstore forums. Looking at peoples mods got me wondering what else was out there and after a quick Google came up with Bit-Tech. After the overclockingstore forums died I started spending time on the forum here as well as looking at the main site.
I think I found Bit as a link via google, as I was looking for information about a Dremel. I know my first post was about the cheap Dremel clones B&Q were knocking out for £15 at that time Ahh seems like only yesterday
somebody postet the halflife-mod when somebody asked for a way to make thinks look old in a german modding-board
My story is a bit funny. My friend used to run a Shoutcast Radio station, and he called it "Big Z Radio" because his name was Zach. When I googled Bigz I got the forums members name and clicked on it thinking it was him.. So, I looked around the site thinking it was pretty neat and stayed. Everytime I hear bigZ i think of that
It poped up on a Counterstrike clan website when a clan member brought up casemodding www.clannfb.com <- come play on our server sometime
