Exactly what it says on the tin. I'm always fascinated by peoples online names and why they chose them how they did... BRAWL - for example, is because I'm nearly 200cm's tall and weight best part of 125Kilo's when I'm at working out alot... I also listen to Berzerker, Chimaira and the such and as so with said music am found in moshpits... generally launching people everywhere. One night out we had a few drinks at a mates house and Transformers 2007 was on and the tank "Brawl" (Not Devestator) was likened to me when I'm in moshpits and drinking and being a nutter. I.e. takes about six people to take me down and even then I get back up launching smash everywhere >.< it's been my nickname since! Gets used online and offline. So wonderful people of Bit-tech enlighten me with your stories as to how your name came about there's usually some funny ones and some random ones! Or like mine... destructive!
Cadets... ..well it was just this chinese kid there called Bosco Chan I thought that's a cool name but it needs an 'e' on the end to look right and so we have Boscoe.
i was young, i was playing red alert 2 and needed a screen name for online play, some how nukeman8 came about, im guessing nukeman1-7 was taken lol. I don't particularly like it now but it's me now.
Put it down on a Football Manager website years ago as I'm a Man City fan but now live in London. Stuck with it for some reason.
think your own name. im Chinese, and my real name is Wuyan Xu. (if you split up the symbol that is my surname, you get two symbols that sounds like Wu and Yan) my dad registered my first Email address as wuyanxu, when i was around 10. it kind of stuck ever since. it's a rare name in English speaking places, so it's easy to register everywhere. but when i got into online gaming, it became too long and too complex for people to type quickly. so i shortened it to WyX. (say it like Wicks, the DIY shop) another quirk, as discovered by my chinese flatmate is that if you type "wyx" in PinYin input method in MS windows, you get 3 symbols that can be translated to "play game". kind of a huge coincidence, but it's very neat . however, my flatmate has no imagination, and is now using WYX as his in-game name when he plays MMO...... i don't play MMO, if you see a WYX in any MMO game, it's not me!
Remember the scene in Forrest Gump where Forrest first meets Benjamin "Bubba" Blue? Bubba: "My name's Benjamin, but people call me Bubba." Me: "My name's Mike Morton. People call me mikemorton."
Proposed RobotWars team was to be called the SuicideSquad, hence me as the team leader = SuicideNeil. Sadly, some knobend decided moving to channel 5 was a good idea & Robotwars died out very quickly afterwards, before I had a chance to apply.
Started as my email address. Murray being my surname, Niall being my First name. T was just thrown in becasuse my middle name is Thomas(Tom) after my late grandad. Although i'm usually just refered as Murray. Online and off.
Kind of simple this one.... My name is Caolan... gaming name is NaloaC..... true rocket science... I leave the [ZiiP] tags there as I'm it's like a 2nd family to me
Mines dead simple. People call me bulldog any way and my name's Jeff. Not to much thinking required on my part really.
Lol mine was forged in the fires of bit-tech and evolved from then on so really many of the members here gave me the name I now have
Losenis...funny story, was playing an MMO and created many fail characters accidentally, ran out of names for new accounts so I started making 'em up, and then BANG this was the one I did well...since I've been using it for so long I've grown up to it. Schizo...Well since "Psycho" wasn't available... Psycho, sad story, will tell only in PM since I feel...uncomfortable writing it here.
Not quite sure how mine came about, but it's to do with the way I reload almost obsessively in FPS games - usually after every kill or every other kill. So beware if you meet me online in a game - my clip will be full Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
Throbbi Bangstick was a joke name i used for a general in Warhammer for a dwarf army about 15 years ago. The joke being it used as a euphemism for the old feller. It then got used as character names in Diablo and such and i've just used it ever since. Sure beats the old nicknames of Jontyoldmanface or Bella
Forum name: Trance - well uh I like trance... Gaming name: FyrBridd - Translation in old english of FireBird my previous online name .I hate numbers in my name but I was never going to get FireBird for Xbox live. Anyway where it originated: the Bird came from gaming giving a freedom unavailable to us in rl, 'free like a bird', Fire from the fact I was particularly lethal with a flamethrower in Halo 1 where my gaming career started.
I love sloths, and they're unique enough to make me one of the only people using them as a name. In games it'll usually be preceeded by "Fuzzy" or "Sleepy. Fuzzypanda was one of my earlier gaming names, along with my friends Fuzzytofu and Fuzzycrab. Over time we've changed animals a bit and turned the "Fuzzy" into adjective alliterations such as "Sleepysloth" and "Tastytofu". It's all mean to bring some light-hearted fun to the games we play.
