OK my old computer is bust... won't even post.

Now I'm not sure exactly what is wrong but have narrowed it down to the Mofo or the Chi(m)p (MSI k7t pro2 and a 1.4tbird)

is there any way of testing which one is bu99ered short of buying a new one of each and returning the one that works?

    Thx

    What exactly do u get?

Edit: of course the board bloody dosen't POST!

    lol :eeek:

    Does it bleep?

    Classic symptoms: board goes "beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep"

If it was the CPU then it's more than likely the board would still bleep, otherwise its ur mobo. Sure its not ur psu?

    lol

    :D

Maybe I'll write some articles on troubleshooting and put em up on my web :D

same thing happened to me. it waas my mobo. i had a K7S5A, and the bugger would just turn the fans on, and thats it. try and ask a mate to let u test your cpu in his/her mobo and see if it works.

I yanked out the battery and tried again and it's working again... that's saved me some cash!

    Dr_Kazza.

First thing, does it beep? YES/NO

if YES: Good, not the BIOS.

if NO: Try taking out the chip and put it in another

    Try another PSU,
    Try another Chip,
    Try another RAM,
    Try another GPU,
    Do the Fans spin?
    Unplug all HDD's

You can narrow down the problem by doing all this. Still got a problem then post back after you've tried this.
