    Something like this:

All letters are 1-2 mm in size, so i don't think etching will do it. I have a black anodized aluminum piece, that i want to write something on it, in white, small details. What's the best way to do it?

Hmmm, could this be done with laser engraving? I've just read about it on wiki.

laser engraving is the way to go - see if you can hire it out. Perhaps a trophy shop in your area? Make some phone calls - you may be able to find it locally. If not, you can send it out - you can find places on the internet.

Yes, i have some shops around my area that do this, but they are closed this time of year. :D Until then, do you know if i can laser engrave any picture/drawing i wish (a hdd icon, for example), not just letters and numbers? And does the size of the aluminum plate matter? I've only saw small sized metal and plastic cards and stuff, which were laser engraved, like name tags and such.
