[old]where can someone reccommend getting some LEDs (laser?) to light up the whole of a case and how many would it take to get nice and bright??? im planning on having a string of one colour, then another like green on one, red on another, UV on one you get me? and then i can control them via switches on the front. but i dont know how many id need to light up the full thing and where to get them from??? also i want some USb cable things that go into USB headers on the mobo to give me some front USB ports cheap thanks [/old] ok if I buy these leds how do i hook em up???
try http://www.xoxide.com/ they got lazer LED's and stuff you shoudlbe able tyo find what you are looking for
thanks for the links but erm (n00b question ahead) do I wire led's in series or parellel? im not sure as to what resistors id need or anything :S if they were in parralel id just need the same type for every led woulnt i? or is series better???
oh and i dont understand this thing tbh... http://metku.net/index.html?sect=view&n=1&path=mods/ledcalc/index_eng how do i know the voltage being dropped accross the leds??? thanks for help
thanks tk, i think i get the basic stuff... but can anyone tell me say if I had 5 leds on the 12v part would i be able to run these at 2v like the sugested part on my link to an led calulator somewhere above? or wouldnt this light up? also if i had 25 leds say altogether or perhaps 30 will these steal loads of power away from my hardware im gonna be runnin them off a 250w SilentX shuttle pPSu so i dont want that to effect anything... thanks
oh great thanks for that boost of confidence there go4t well if that is the case I can have my big bunch o' leds then im planning on being able to contol the colour theme in my case for when i get bored hope it goes well thanks for the help guys mod on
oh still no one answer my question about the voltage being supplied to the leds... will a resistor sort everything out and will an led run bright and nice with 2v dropped onto it even if its a 3.3v??? or should i do the 3.3???
LED's next to nothing power wise, bright, compact, durabe but it all comes at a cost, they are fairly expensive, but worth ever penny
