that stuff is so absoflamingloutely gorgeous it is unreal

Yet to have it over here in Britain, loved it when i was in canada - I was a dish washer at a pizza place with free foods, I always had the poutine...

serving style: curly fries with loads and loads of cheese and loads and loads of onion gravy

and I'll not say no to some shaved steak in the future...

I like my gravy salty, and melting over mozzarella or extra mild cheddar and topped lightly sprinkled with black pepper. You can't go wrong with french fries; it's the gravy and cheese that make a good poutine.

I"ve had chips, cheese and gravy before, it's normally what I order from the chippy, but apparently poutine is different (according to my Canadian friend)
Do they actually do cheese and gravy in chippies down south? I've never seen it.

    Okay.

I can see cheese. I can see gravy. I can see them on chips. But together on chips?!

    I'll stick to Fish&Chips, thanks :p

They sound nice but can't find them for sale here  They seem to crop up on most recipes. Is Mozzarella good to use instead?

That sounds awesomely tasty and equally bad for you :wallbash:
I fell in love with chips and gravy at Ikea of all places. You can have chips and gravy with your meatballs and it is really yummy :)

What sort of cheese though ?:D We get hundreds to choose from here, but no cheese curds :/

Come on, share the info :D I mean there's sausage and mash, and then there's sausage and mash if you know what I mean. What's makes good poutine from start to finish? Sounds lovely but there must be some good ways of doing it?

Ditto - however, I've discovered that cheese and chocolate *IN* the computer don't go together quite so well!

    *grin*

mmmmm.... yum, now I'm having mad cravings. My buddy and I were just up in montreal for an Iron Maiden concert, the poutine is just so much better in Quebec. Real cheese curds, and the best gravy. One of the few things I really miss now that I don't live there. Quebecers just do cheese so well...

i like my poutine with extra fat.

i actually can't stand the stuff. fries and gravy don't belong on the same plate.
