forgot to add my headset choice in an earlier post.

    Bose aviaton headset X :hip:

I normally use it for flying, but the noise canceling headphones and selective-pickup mike are a godsend at loud DJ/LAN events.

    2.1 - premium PC speakers.

They're Altec Lansing 5021s? I think. I can never remember :hehe:

Very nice enough. Sub's a bit too powerful sometimes though, there's no way to control the level of it either :(

I've also got a pair of 5.1 headphones, but they're a bit broken - and they now pick up a tonne of interference from my wireless bridge!

    Ha!

    I voted under Arthur2Shed's account!

For the record, OneSeventeen uses 2.1 Budget/Midrange speakers (8 years old and super-nice actually) Arthur2Sheds has some nice looking Logitech 2.1's though.

Usually it's a set of cheapish 5.1 speakers (although they sounded better under Windows XP), although sometimes (like right now) I use the speakers in my laptop, especially if it's 9am, and i'm still laying in bed...

I have Zalman surround phones for gaming, but rarely listen to music, that said I've got a set of 5.1s spare with a muti-input setup so I might hook the non-gaming rigs through that.

For tunes, I have a Squeezebox in the kitchen with an amp and (cheap) speakers.

Main X-Fi extreme Gamer -> Creative Gigaworks S750

Spare On-Board -> Inca Tech "The Claymore" Amp -> Some Cheap JPW Bookshelf Speakers <- annoyingly this sounds better, but I do so love surround for movies and can;t afford to change!

Whilst you're not googling for pictures of this gear, go check out the definition of "Smug *******." I suspect there's a high probability you'll spot a picture of Nexxo.

    ps. Hexus wee's on RTT

Midrange 2.1 setup, about 700 euros total.

Pioneer VSX-D514 hooked up with a pair of Audio Pro Stage44 and Sub B1.35mk2. Zalman surround headphones for some games.

In the past few days, I've been listening to music off of my Zen while on the PC. I find it much less ennoying than iTunes (which I hat BTW)

I have a Creative X-Fi with an Acoustic Energy Aego M plugged into it. The sound quality is fantastic for such small footprint speakers. If anyone is looking to upgrade their 2.1 speakers I cannot recommend these enough.

Been a while, but thought I'd drop in.

Currently running a cheap SIIG sound card to my old Yamaha RX-V992 receiver via spdif. The speakers are Klipsch Synergy 2.1 front and rear with KSC-C1 center and KSW 150 sub. Sounds good, but not great. I love the sound I get playing DVDs or CDs through my Yamaha DVD player, but even a CD or uncompressed wave file don't sound as good through the pc. I suspect it's the sound card. So, the sound card is getting upgraded soon. I just needed something to get by for a while and test playing stuff through spdif.
