You should be an admin by default.

Try right clicking and using the "Run as Administrator" option.

No i don't get that option. What the problem is i install wow, create the account, login, get in but then it says patch required, and you have to go back to original page to install it, and then it says failed to apply patch.

Honestly, I'm not helping you unless you can use a bit of punctuation, proper capitalization, and spelling. It doesn't take that much longer, and makes it so that we can all read what you have written.

i don't have the latest patch file every time i try installing it it says:

This update requires "WoW.exe" version 3.1.2.9901. You have an older version, 2.3.0.7561.

Download the 3.0 installer from Blizzard, and install from that instead of your disks.

    Then get patches from here.

Catch 22 is you must be signed in to an admin account in order to create another admin account. And as OP doesn't know the admin details...

    What OS are you on?
    XP, Vista, 7?

If you are on a limited account and don't have access to an Admin account you can't do it, (Try booting into safe mode - F8 on start up and then try Administrator with a blank password).
If it is 100% your machine and you have simply 'forgot' the password you can crack it.
