Now that more and more of us have embraced the awesomeness that is the multi-screen set-up, I was wondering how most of you use them.. Here is mine: Its a Dell E207WFP and a Viewsonice VX922. I run Ultramon to control the backgrounds and taskbars on the screens. I then normally use the 19" for Spotify/iPlayer/Youtube/DVD's etc while whatever I'm working on is on the 24". I know people have moaned at me before about using the entire 24" for just one web browser, and say it defeats the point of having a widescreen. Anyway, I'm interested in how others use theirs.
I currently have a 28" Hanns.G and a U2311H. The Hanns.G is on the right, DELL on the left in portrait. Then I'll have chat windows, music player, torrents whatever on the left, browser on the right, unless I'm playing a game/watching something in which case the browser goes on the left aswell
I have a 27" LG on the left and a 24" Viewsonic on the right. my usage is much the same as yours Mankz, use one for "work" and the other for iplayer, netflix etc. when gaming I use the second monitor to display coretemp and gpu monitoring software to keep track of my current temps and usage.
two 24" 1080p (sadly not higher) with datasheets on one screen and solidworks on the other, with my ipod on a stand streaming tv from dr.dk
Dell U2311H and a Dell 17"(Not sure which model) Browser/Whatever my attention is focused on is on the 23". Skype is normally on the 17" but sometimes a browser window visits the plains of oblivion/hell/the netherealm/your game of choice other realm/world. Oh and DisplayFusion to manage wallpapers etc.
Rage. I thought that would've been a little obvious. Typical that i'm back on my awful backup, though.
My usage is exactly the same as this with my 23" Dell U2312HM on the right and my 19" Samsung SM940BW on the left. My Sony 32S3000 TV comes into play if me & the other half are watching iPlayer or something.
Keep it on your desk. Next time rage is initiated, punch the broken monitor. Leave the new one well alone.
Bwahaha~ No. I just need to finally build that new desk. It'll have enough room for a small padded bag to hit instead.
Left monitor is for internet pc. Right monitor is shared, via a DVI switch, between my internet pc or gaming pc, depending what I'm doing/playing. It's complicated but it works for me.
I have a triple Benq G2222HDL setup for work. Database in the left, what I'm working on in the centre and Thunderbird in the right.
Excuse the backup, backup keyboard. I'm also planning on another 2001FP or 2007FP to go on the other side.
When I had my 2080UX+ and 1980SXi I had it it portrait mode for pure text and word documents. But having switched to having a pair of 2080ux+s I usually turn the 2nd monitor off until I do HW or research that requires two monitors. Or I'm writing and want to watch a movie of F1 race.
Secondary = Dell FP2007 20" 4:3 1200x1600 (portrait) Main = Eizo SX3031W 30" 16:10 2560x1600 shot with a 14mm lens to get everything in, so some distortion (Dell looking square, and main looking smaller than it actually is. Here's another shot, but with my old i7-920 rig in attendance.
used to use two, down to one. But one serves what I'm doing and the other is what I'm working off. Ideally I need three when at work... I spend a lot of time with three docs up amending them and it is a massive pain having to swap between them. One thing I hate though is the fact that windows doesn't let you extend the task bar across the monitors. Or let you have a task bar for each monitor. I hate having to go down to the bottom left all the time when working across them. Definitely need a third though.
