I was typing an email during an meeting on the projected screen and my collegues were impressed by my typing speed. I never thought about it, but apparently I do type pretty well. So I found an online test to see how fast I really am. link to typing test It uses easy random words, no punctuation, number or special characters, just basic typing. So, how fast are you? I got 104WPM on my 5th try with 545 keystrokes. Pretty pleased with that, I don't think I can get it much higher as that was a pretty smooth try. At home I use a qwerty keyboard but at work I got issued a azerty one and it messes with my head. I'm considering getting a Das Keyboard in Qwerty for at work. I'm just worried my collegues (open office) will hate the sound it produces. -- No I didn't use the search as I'm sure this question/thread has been asked/started before. But we get happy newyear threads every year as well.
I tried again but this time in my motherlanguage (Dutch) instead of English. On my 6th try I broke my English record: 112WPM - 560keystrokes - 92 words - no mistakes. Which means I'm better then 98,59% of all users and it gives me a 9th place (out of 637) in the last 24 hours.
First try I missed out a word somehow and then got the next 5 words wrong before realising I missed out a word! So on the second try I got: 111 WPM, 563 keystrokes, 105 correct words, 1 wrong word, better than 99.14% of all users (position 545 of 63144 - last 24 hours). I think a typing test with punctuation etc is more realistic though, I'd probably be slower on them. My keyboard isn't the best though, just the £29.99 Logitech Illuminated Keyboard. I would love to try a mechanical keyboard as I heard they're godly for gaming and typing and everything else.
When I was a legal secretary, I typed about 120 wpm. However, much less than that now. Happy if I type 75 wpm.
0 WPM... Being on an iPad which deemed fit to capitalise everything, hence flagging it as incorrect, doesn't help (43 wpm if it counted properly, but still an iPad)
If you want to make it more fun try using your phone or tablet, just scored 54wpm with tablet and swipe Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 2
About 50 at my quickest. It doesn't help that I need to look down at the beginning of most words to re-arrange my fingers. Only really use two finger on each hand, so quickly get out of position.
Just why ?? Typists don't get paid much it's not that hard a skill to learn, this has to be the saddest attempt for e-peen i've ever seen. Your on top of the world bro, on top of the world.
Wow never thought about my typing speed...turns out its a disappointing average of 42 over 3 tries! Time to improve...
1st try 67 WPM (345 keystrokes, 1 error) 2nd try 74 WPM (380 keystrokes, 1 error) 3rd try 77 WPM (384 keystrokes, 0 errors) So guess my average is around that 70-75 WPM. Not bad considering i don't type with 10 fingers .
Visit the Typing Test and try! Edit: Did it again as I was sat a bit awkwardly and got: With a few errors though. So my typing speed is probably 80 wpm with no/very rare errors, or 90+ wpm with some errors.
