The problem with Disney is that they havent written, for some reason or another, any good story lines that have made it into production. The Emperor's New Groove was a bit too much of a departure from typical Disney productions being primarily a comedy (and a laugh riot at that :D), but was otherwise a great film.

Steve Jobs makes me wonder sometimes; his sanity is sometimes questionable. Either way, I hope he actually does something to make solid films with well written plots and good animation as disney did in their peak, instead of making crappy fill in films - and whats really been killing them, terrible straight to video sequals where no material exists for a sequal.

And Lilo and Stitch was far from a Flop by the way ;)

Lilo and Stitch sucked. The last good Disney movie I saw was Emperors New Groove, and that's only cause it was hysterical. I was never much for Disney's focus on singing and such in their movies, but hopefully Jobs can do something to help them out, 'cause Disney really sucks at movies now (unless you count Pirates of the Carribean and such, but they really aren't Disney movies per se).

What do you mean Pirates isn't Disney per se, of course it's Disney! =P Not animated Disney, but still the same. But yea... I do agree that some of their movies are aimed so broadly at audiences that nobody goes to the movies. Pixar helped with a few good films, but now they're trying to overindulge on the animation profits. I mean, some of the past few movies haven't enjoyed great popularity. I'm 22 and I liked Finding Nemo. Incredibles was another fantastic animation since it was generally good scripting/production. Shrek1&2 by Dreamworks also did well.

Even though I liked these movies, there was too much hype involved. I mean, there were teasers to the Incredibles for many months before it finally was finished and released. Cars has been featured in teasers for months already as well. Too much hype, not enough umph. Then again, we see this a lot in other films too.

There needs to be a major revitalizing force, but it's not going to happen soon because too many people are interested in profits rather than creating unique content. Some people frown upon remakes, but in some cases it allows the directors to extend their own creativity and refresh a plot (King Kong was GREAT!).

A lot of movies are coming out only to be followed by profit seekers. The Saw was followed by The Saw 2. Fine. Then Hostel? I didn't see it, but it seems like another in the series of morbid violence. Sin City was morbid, it was violent, but it was unique, it was fresh.

Sorry for my rant. As for "revitalizing", Jobs might not have the same success if given the responsibility of running Disney. It wasn't his vision, it wasn't of his design; it would be like a woman moving into a man's bedroom and not having the right tools available to make it her own. Sure Jobs is somewhat capable, but with the walls in place, the ceiling and floor solid and established, there may be a limit as to how much he can change the company by being allowed to tinker around on the inside.
