They are the BBFC (or British board of film classification) ratings.
The number is what age they have decided you have to be, to be suitable to watch the film

Unfortunately their placement is controlled by law or something.
The reason why "in the Mood for love" doesn’t have one is because it’s a French Dvd :hip:

They have just redesigned the rating logos but they are still as ugly as ever :sigh:

They also like to cut films because they think they know what’s suitable viewing rather than leaving that up to the viewer themselves :miffed:

So basically I wish they (the BBFC) would just F**k Off

    :hip:

Just got black hawk down quite a good film.

I don't get many been collecting for over a year now cash flow or lack of seems to stop me buying O and being in the UK where the average price of a dvd is £15 that hinders me a smiggin

ouch, that's a little high. our prices range from about $12 to around $50.

usually the newer movies are about 20-25, anime get up around 50, and older movies are 12-15 bucks...then there's the bargin bin, those go as low as 5.99. i love the bargin bin

Geez:eeek: , you guys have some crazy prices over there (both canada and uk people). I think the most I have paid for a single dvd, new release is around $30. All my anime were no more than $28 and some were only $20. Anyway, finally got the list of all my DVDs up and a couple of snapshots of them, including some VHS and a few books. Yes, real books!

All the DVDs (except those that I have on loan and some that are just plain missing right now) and some VHS.

More VHS and some those *real* books.

Here is a link to a list of all my DVDs that I have at the house right now (no extra info, basically just a list. will update someday):

    Enjoy!

The most I've ever paid for a DVD is £12 and the usual is £10 or under.

But I wait for some kind of offers or deals ....

And I still have to pay more than you people in the US or Canada

    £10 = $16.00 or so

PHxS's fiance - great quote from Videodrome samuelellis!! Movie's are a passion of mine that I was glad to pass on to PHxS. Right now we are finding director's to collect. I am being sucked into cult Horror directors like Argento and Lucio Fulci - sci-fi and anime too. You will not find many romance films at our place (not a big fan).

DAMNIT PEOPLE! they are not the knights who say neep, or the knights who say meep, or anything like that, they are the knights who say NI(edit, the box says "nee", so i've always had the spelling wrong, but not the sound). why does everyone always get it wrong, it pisses me off.

    /insane yelling

    sorry about that.

    VadimtheConqueror:those were in US dollars.

LunaAngel is my girl, she knows more than I do about movies. It's kinda sick, the amount of knowledge she has.
