Just a thought before I go to bed, as its a bit disturbing sometimes when you add it all up :worried:

What do you use em for?

    Where do you use em?

And for how long? Got a record perhaps? :D

Do you have any injuries or disabilitys as a result? i.e glases/contacts, a slap form your gf :naughty:

    me:

    Work: 9:00 - 4:00

    Home: 4:30 - finish off between 12:00 and 3:00

Like everyone I have various breaks but nothing major. So yer, basically too long.

Im gonna try and cut down, I need to start doing outdoor stuff again. Trouble is computers are soooo adictive, you basically have every form of entertainment and information without having to move much. Its just gonna get worse as there incorporated into every device and eventually our bodies in some way or another :worried:
Wont have to worry about memory loss, it will all be backed up onto solid state organic memory (looks like a Tangerine), aswel as that we we will all have the abilty to overclock our brains (if your brave enough)... better to burn out than fade away. That was an awful joke :duh:

Hmmm, time for some Battlfield 2 :naughty:

I use mine for about 8-10 a day, but I'm ill anyway, therefore have quite a lot of spare time on my hands.

Use it for gaming, the web, and media of most kinds. Longest, I dunno, probably 12 or 14 hours, I generally get bored and take breaks after a few hours, then come back relatively fast. It takes something amazing to keep me on the PC for a good solid half day.

    In short: Too long.

Long story: from around 7:30am in the morning (when I start work), til whatever time I go to sleep at night on some occasions - often past 1am. Yes, I work too much.

I work behind one for 8 hours every day then spend a few hours after dinner on mine. Theres 11-12 hours each day. In the weekends it can be the same, depending on what life has to offer as an alternative :)

I'm with bigz, though now that school's back in it's less of the day as I have things more important than +1'ing to do (believe it or not!). Still, a few minutes before I leave then almost all the time from getting back home to going to sleep. Pretty much whenever I'm not sleeping or in class (and sometimes when I'm in class).
    +1

10 or more hours a day at work and at home.

repetitive motion syndrome / carpal tunnel in the right wrist. They said that it would need surgery if it didn't get better. I hate doctors - I hate surgery even more, (I have about 15 inches or so of titanium in my leg) - so I decided that I would just live with it and not tell doctors about it any more.....

Smart? Yeah - I know, but I really hate doctors....

Typical day when I go out, around 10 hours at least. If I do go out then possibly half that.

I use them for school, contact, working, and daily browsing, news, personal interest etc.

Depends, but on holidays etc, probably 8 hours or more gaming, researching, ebaying, foruming, working.

Probably the same at school, but just more work related.

I think half of us here will be having RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) - Same as the US ARS - later in life, how do I reduce the chances of this? I know you can get special mousemats, but I find them really uncomfortable and annoying as it gets in the way!

erm 9-5.30 (work) then quite a lot in the evenings too, though not as much as before work...

RSI is a good point, elbows and wists are starting to hurt a little think its due to being sat at a keyboard all day :S

Hm... 2-3 hours daily at home... I also use a computer at work to update assembly status on other computers. Depending on how you want to count that, it's either 30 or so minutes of hands-on-keyboard, or 4-8 hours of working right next to a running computer.

Not as much as you guys. Maybe about 10 hours a day. I think the question u should be asking is, how many months in total a year do you use the PC?? I bet some answers will be about a total of 4-6 months. Thats shocking!!! Get out more!!
