According to Steam, I've played 49 hours but I'm one of those wimps who'll keep quickloading/quicksaving until I've paralysed every aggressor with my palm!

Just finished my second run through (NCR ending - really cool with the whole "protect the president" thing, but f*** its a hard ending to get through :jawdrop: )

Anyone else thinking the story line is horridly more linear than they made it seem. :grr:

47 hours today. Am in Vault 3 taking out the baddies. I got the better criticals perk today. It was either that or 'put a point in the skills thing or whatever it is, better VATS with rifles etc. I remember using the 'lone gunman' whadyacallhim in fo3 but I felt that was a bit of a cop out to bother with him this time. I'd rather just reload the save game and do it better a second time xD

This just in; Do I HAVE to pick a side??? Picking a side isn't all that easy as you can't see where a quest is going. I mean do i really have to read a game walk through to see which way I want the game to go? I know you can't keep everyone happy and be neutral, but I wish there was a clearer path as to 'being with the ncr, brotherhood of steel, boomers etc, and against the legion, etc etc. Anyone else having this problem??

I played through neutral with everybody (except for the powder gangers, whom would attack me at every turn, despite having an exceptionally good standing with them), until the "Yes Man" quests, wherein you do have to pick a side (Yes Man, NCR or Legion in my case). I wanted to find a way to end everything nice, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do this. I finally chose the Yes Man route, as it seemed the lesser of all the evils. Guess this is the bit of the game where you have to make a tough choice...

You can also chose to side with mr house heh. Don't mean to be a party pooper here, but I kinda don't like the way this is going. I mean I know it's a role play fps, but seriosly, I don't like having to think about the politics of who's good and bad THIS much :wallbash: It's meant to be a 'game' fcol.

Ironic isn't it, that what I've actually enjoyed about this game had nothing to do with picking sides. I just liked finding stuff, repairing the guns I bought/found, doing side missions. Am I getting a bit soft, over a game? Yeah. Sigh. No more rps for me. Looking forward to batman arkham city tbh. Will probably side with mr house.

Admittedly, I actually took a day off from the game to make a decision, as I really didn't want to chose one side over the other (exploration and helping the odd person was what made the game great for me). I made a save just before the decision time so I could try out a couple different endings specifically because of this.

If you want a fun ending: meet the Legion commander wearing Caesar's armour. Obviously this can only be done while attacking the Legion in the final quest, but it is rather fun what his reaction is.

to pick a side, do quests for them until you pick up some fame from that - this will trigger a messenger finding you and telling you to meet the head of said faction. Killing lots of soldiers from that faction would add infamy, and cause the same trigger.

Meet with the faction head, and start the quest chain they offer - and thats it. You can change afterwards, but the further down a certain quest chain you go, the harder it will be change to another faction

Nope I read books from the beginning until the end lol. I played as much of the game as I wanted to and enjoyed doing so. Why should I play for 100 hours when I would be bored for half of it?

Once I hit max level I loose interest. There is no more progression past that point. Also I had been to more than half the locations on the map. What did I miss? Some pointless fetch quests? And a few caves full of wild dogs? Oh well. I did all the plot and all the side quests I came across, and all the companions quests too.

Are you saying you have all the achievements?? I have so far found all of the locations and by revisiting them new quest comes each time I go back to one of them.

I was a friend and now a enemy of the legion and at the moment I've join up with the brotherhood of steel, They have the best weapons lol the gauss rifle and the gatling laser are my favorites.

I've killed Mr house and the robot army is mine.

The Boomers are my friends as is the NCR and the Great Khans

But all is going to change soon.

The game is morally very grey which is what I really like about it.

    90 hours so far.

Cant check what I had as I don't have my save game anymore. Can only mention what I can remember of the top of my head.

I had the Gauss Rifle though I preferred the Anti-Material Rifle and the Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle. I had other things like the Tesla Beaton prototype (or whatever it was called) ect.. I'd found most of the weapons.

I was friends with the Boomers, NCR, The Followers of the Apocalypse, House and The Brotherhood of Steel (although at the end I betrayed the brotherhood and the NCR). And all the towns liked or idolized me. Except for the Great Khans, Legion and Powder-gangers territorys. They all loathed me hehe

I also became one of the brotherhood so I could use their power armour. I'd maxed out quite a few of the skills and unlocked several of the perks you get from killing certain enemys ect. I'd also maxed out a couple of my stats (theres a doctor who will upgrade you with implants) and I found all the snow globes. I did loads lol.

Oh and I had enough stimpaks, super-stimpaks and ammo to start world war 3 :D

Between me and my other half we've clocked up 104 hours! lol, she's played it for about 67 hours and I've played it for 37 hours so far and still got a ton of places to find!

Found I keep having to use quicksave on PC though because they still haven't released the 'comprehensive' patch they keep waffling on about!

Read more on that here http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1123616-game-updates/

^^ This is why I can't wait for the MMO, (If they ever stop fighting about who can/can't/should make the thing) as most people who enjoy this type of game tend to be major pack rats. :D

Basically, put 200 of us together with all the guns/ammo/grenades/etc we can carry and see who's left after the dust settles :hehe: :thumb:

    EDIT:
Thought that was the patch that was released a few days ago....
