Mine stays on 24/7. I don't really worry about leaks either. I've been running with water for about 6 months now and just this past couple weeks has been the first time it HASN'T leaked! :D

I've always just stuck a paper towel under it and changed it every week since I've been too lazy to drain it and take the pump out (the leaky part) to fix it. Just now that I've gotten a new case and had to transplant the system did I patch it up, and now I'm leak-free and truly worriless about it.

I am still new to watercooling and I experienced a leak (luckly it was the pump & just leaked on the bottom). I am really concerned but it has been running for over a week with no problems ... I love since it is so quite and I am getting decent temps.

surely if you can't trust your WCing system then you need to rethink it?!?
i won't have time to contstandly worry about mine leaking so it will be on 24/7. plus i'm looking for an upgrade to my current system not a downgrade!

I must admit since I've been water-cooling my fear has ebbed away, the longer it has been running. I've had my system off the bench on the floor, back on the bench. Ripped out hardware change things around and still not a leak. I always use a mag light to check all the joints and blocks to make sure before I put the cover back on. My case has a side widow and is lit so I can keep a watchful eye when I need too.

It was designed with the purpose of being able to do all of those things.

Like I always say " Water cooling is a step forward, not a leap of faith!"

The thing is, it will leak wether you are there or not, an although you might be able to notice it if your there the CPU max temp shutdown thing would still kick in when its gets too hot.

Exactly. Another thing is, if you keep worrying that it might leak, it probably will leak, but if you just forget about it, it'll keep on going for ages (sods law :p )

Each time i've set up a rig i've ignored it after, and very very rarely check to see whats going on.

THe point for me was lower temps for a bigger overclock, which i achieved. While 30C load would be nice, if i wasn't getting a bigger overclock i woudl sell off instantly. Just not worth the expense for temps alone.

The way i see it is, on forums around the world, i tend to see a lot more fan failures on heatsinks and mobo/chip/sink meltings going on than watercooling failures. Yes i get that air cooling is obviously far greater in proportion so you'd hear about more of them.

But even looking on uk sites in watercooling, how many threads on dead rigs have you seen? Not many for me.

THe main point i'm making is, a well designed block won't leak, a well made join between tubing and barb won't leak, a good pump won't fail, a good rad won't break and a good fan won't stop. There is no more risk to watercooling than to aircooling. I've seen slk's fall off and trash mobo's chips gfx cards. I've seen fans fail causing mobo and chip deaths. Nothing should fail, but anything could, you can't forsee, or stop that, you can't pick up a block or a pump and know it will never fail.

    Yup, several w/c systems, 24/7/365.

Bravest of all (IMHO), I've built w/c systems for complete cooling newbies who live 200 miles away and LAN regularly.
I just told them to look in the AquaTube every so often and phone me if it looks empty/weird in any way. :hehe:

Coming up for a year now... no calls yet :)
    (... touch wood :worried: ).

yeah that's nice... wouldn't that make Pug an accessory to murder because he built the system?
