I ask becasue my mom has given me a 7-day "challenge" to stay away from a computer on the pretext of "over-use". However, I only use the computer for about an hour and a half each day. Is this alot?

Usually on it all day in work (on the net woo! I'm the I.T. Manager so I control the report logs :p )

but I barely go on the PC at home now, It only gets switched on when I've got work to do, when I was borrowing my dad's laptop however, it was on pretty much all the time.

7.5 hours a day at work
Then my PC gets switched on as soon as I get home and gets switched off when I goto bed, unless I have downloads running.
I'm not infront of the PC that whole time, but an hour and a half would be a gaming session in between surfing etc.

Varies from day to day with Uni work etc. Basic rule of thumb is that if I have anything better to do I won't use the computer at all. I do find the computer more entertaining to waste time on that TV unless there is something specific I want to watch.

I usually switch my PC on when I get back from college keep coming back to it in between doing other stuff and switch it off when I go to bed.

I work from home and it goes on when I get up (usually about 0730) and goes off at about 2200 (though sometimes later).
I'm rarely away from it, maybe a coupla hours a day.

Hmm. maybe my gf's right - I should get away from it.
(I don't get eye-strain or anything, though I do have bad wrists from a snowboarding injury, and seem to have a bad back at the mo)

PS- Dad, weren't you tired of the snow a while back too?

Still am tired of it. We got about 1" of heavy snow/rain yesterday evening (I have pics to prove it). That's why I haven't changed my title yet ;)

    hmmm...

    TOO MUCH

Basicly when im at home, my pc is on. So when im not eating or watching TV with family or just chatting which is about 5 hours a week TOPS. im on my PC.

But I do go to uni and rarely use the opotunity to use pcs there and i go out some evenings and work weekends so i recon about 4 hours a day in the week 6 hours total for the weekend. But when im on holiday you can eaisy make that hours in the day to 10. EVE, im addicted damn it :(

    Suuuuper duper doo :)

I do a lot of research on the net for work too, It never ceases to amaze me at how gobsmacked my boss is when I explain to him that I can save him ££££ simply by spending 10 minutes or so on google.co.uk

pretty much 7-8 hours a day for work... then maybe 1-2 hours the rest of the evening, depends on whether the wife there. If she's there then not on as much. So I try to keep my gaming to when she's out doing something.
