Hi guys ive just bought an MSI P67A-GD53 (B3) from scan, im now looking at corsair vengeance memory...i mostly game with some browsing and will be doing some video and photo editing (soon),,,,do i get 8gb (2x4) or 16gb (4x4)....my cpu will be a 2700k....but if the motherboard needs a bios update to run that cpu ill get a 2600k. thanks guys take care
Doubt you would need 16GB, 8GB will certainly be fine for games for the next few years anyway. If the 16GB is cheap enough though it wont do any harm to get it.
Go for 8GB and spend the difference elsewhere in your build - no point spending money for something that will offer no benefit. Also, please post back if you would as to whether the Corsair stuff boots properly. I had different sticks in that it was XMS3, but they just wouldn't boot in dual channel in that board. Would be curious to know if you have any issues.
8 will more than do you but these low prices can't last forever. If you can get 16 for cheap then why not. Future proofing yourself while the cost is low.
