3 x 2GB DDR2-1066 kinda wish I went with DDR2-800 because 4GB DDR2-1066 dimms don't seem to exist. :/ guess I won't see 16GB in this rig anytime soon.
I dropped 12Gb in mine for no other reason apart from that I can. I think I've probably maxed it out 3 times since it went in 2 weeks ago. Like you say, it's nice to know its there.
16 here, because it was cheap. Expecting to keep this rig for quite some time. RAM hangs around 10% usage, but if I decide to do virtual machines or something like that, it will be nice.
2x2 for 4gb. I am a gamer, I don't spend money on more than I need. I will never need more than 8gb, so getting 8gb now for the sake of being able to add 8 more is pointless - the price difference between 4gb and 8gb is generally almost enough to upgrade a GPU (lower end) or at least a decent chunk towards it (higher end)
1 X 4GB DDR3 SODIMM 1333mhz with another stick on the way while its cheap. £45 isnt to bad for a high density module of that speed i dont think!
Running with 2GB in my MBP at the moment, but I might bump that up to 4 or 8GB soon having seen the amount RAM prices are dropping.
I do have a friend who's running 18GB in his rig! I originally built it for him with 6GB, then he upgraded with a 12GB kit to do ABAQUS stuff on - proper 'requires a week or two to run' stuff.
Got 4x2GB of DDR2 1066. Don't know why as I've never really needed it and it wasn't the cheapest at the time.
Just upgraded to 8Gb (4x2) Corsair XMS3 1600MHz while the price is so low and the fact it fits under my Gelid Tranquillo, which my Ripjaws wouldn't.
