1,400 sounds like a pretty decent number, it's about 2.3 gorillas.

I would say the same here, and the food intake must be incredible if the body has to support all that mass with energy :]

Now, how does he eat? Does he eat zombies?

I say he eats bricks. But that means he ****s bricks. But then it wouldn't be possible anyhow.

Agreed, he could weigh some large amount which is less than a car, and be able to throw cars :D

Put him on a scale with a duck. if he weighs less than the duck then he must float on water... and that makes him a witch!! STONE HIM!!
(see how I tied in the stone system? :))

Glad this pressing question caught the eyes of a few around here :D

I might even go with 4 gorrilas. The body doesnt follow even gorilla proportions, the chest is very, very deep, or is it that the back muscles are so overdeveloped? Plus the forearms are extremely large too. Andy Fordham large. I'd now go with 1400 pounds in weight. Heat would be an issue for him too, he would radiate it like mad just plodding around, let alone doing any heavy lifting :D

Food consumption would be off the scale. He is literally a muscle monster; a monster composed predominantly out of muscle tissue. With only a mutated human digestive system he would need to eat large quantities of meat and fat. Anything else wouldn't be worth the forgone stomach space that could have been filled with porteins and energy. Feasting off zombies would do nicely.

He should get some kind of eating tribute, showing him holding bodies to his face and stuffing bits in :D and you just come across it all.

I'd think that the tank would might have an enlarged heart and lungs, as for heat dissipation, perhaps enhanced sweat glands?

As for food consumption, a plausible explanation would be a slower metabolism?

Yeah I would imagine enlarged heart and lungs would be a given. Yeah I reckon he must sweat profusely, a whole can of lynx per day for this mofo :D

He could have a slow metabolism thinking of it again, in the same respect that big cats do seeing as they can gorge on a kill and not eat again for days and days.

It's never implied he actually eats, though, which is troublesome. Where does he get his energy from? In fact, none of the zombies in this game are shown to eat people, just fisticuff them a lot. And if he does eat, the next question is this: how many ex-survivors would he need to consume on a daily basis to maintain his level of mobility and strength?

What if no survivors are available? Do zombies eat other zombies when pressed for food?

Yeah i see your point. Im taking my cue from bill "..don't let those b@stards eat me!". Plus the levels where you com across cows they have no faces left, or that might be birds, flys and maggots at work. Anyways the tank would have to have eaten a great deal to grow to that size. I think its reasonable to say all the specials apart from the witch would look for food. They are implied to have some level of thinking I would say. Even the boomer would need to consume something to reach the size that he does, not least fluid, seeing as hes swelled with it.

As to how many humanoids a tank would need to eat per day to sustain himself, and i dont think the tank gives a monkeys about human or infected, it would be at least one surely. If the intro video of l4d 1 says anything i think its that if he wants to eat he would just grab a normal infected and start the om nom noms right then and there.

The tank model in l4d2 seems different to the l4d1 version. More plump-ish and less strained skin over heaving slabs of muscle.

Hmm, perhaps after being zombified, it's a particular person who becomes a tank, and that tank consumes a huge amount of food there, but then it's metabolism thins out as time passes...

    That's boomers, surely.

What gets me is, how do a tank's legs support its weight?
