Thanks for the conversion Why the ? If you think that's all bad, you should hear what I pay for natural gas to heat my house in the winter. The utility I have (NYSEG - New York State Electric & Gas) is the 2nd highest cost utility in the nation behind the one in Hawaii.
Theres 3.785 Litres to a US Gallon so £0.929 for a litre of fuel would be £3.52 per US gallon $6.36 per US Gallon and £1.54 per US gallon would be £0.42 per litre
Ah, the Great Gas Debate between the US and UK.. Over here the problem isn't how much it is, it's how much it's gone up. When I started working here about 3.5 years ago, gas was at around $1.40 a gallon. It's gone up more than 100% in 3 years.. Also, keep in mind that our government doesn't tax the living hell out of it either.
fuel over here is 80% tax and its 95 octane for standard and 98 octane for super so that might help under stand why it should e a little bit expensive but not over double
its not just the fuel, you get 4x the amount of coke i do for the same price!!!!1 the only thing thats about the same is a Mars bar
Keep in mind that like just about everything else, octane ratings in the UK and US are different. In the US we use (RON+MON)/2 which gives us a lower number. I think that you all just use MON as your octane rating.
The funny thing about that is if I went to the store to buy a 20oz bottle, it would cost $1.29 while a 2 liter bottle is $1.25... Figure THAT one out
