My first ever case mod attempt i didn;t take out my mobo when i was cutting the hole in the top of the case, i went to power it up and all the little aluminum bits made a mess out of the contacts... in retrospect it was a bit stupid....

lol, ya that would do it.

i prefer using one of those bimetal hole cutters but not the ones that are completely round the ones that kinda look like a milling bit they work awesome. perfect circles everytime :)

Ouch, was it an expensive case?

A bit of body filler might tart it up.

I've actually stood there in shock as someone literally cut three of their fingers off while using a bandsaw.

Unfortunately there was nothing I could've done when it happened, it only took about 2 seconds to wipe his fingers straight off.

By the time he realised what had happened I had my phone out and was on to the emergency services.

He seriously didn't know what had happened untill about 30 seconds after he lost his fingers :eeek:

This was years ago, before camera phones were cheap enough for school kids to get hold of.

No he didn't get them put back on :(

5000 rpm on a 80mm tool. Thats just wrong in so many ways, especially if it was a steel case (looked like it).
Im a machinist, and would have done it in a different matter.
What you should have done was put a piece of wood under the hole, clamp the whole thing directly to the table and used a more suited rpm. (i dont know what tool you used, so i cant reccomend a spesific rpm.)
