Actualy, if you look at the start of the vid, you can see that they did hook it to the frame (or atleast a metal part that hooks to the frame), but it looks like that part detatched and the hook slipped and latched onto the undercurl on the bumper. Idgits anyway!

it's always so funny to see people do stupid ****e like this...
reminds somewhat of one of my Dad's friends did a while back. he had an old (early seventies) T-bird, which he wanted to put a 508 in. wouldn't fit on it's own, so the guy cuts off the front of the car just behind the radiator, and extends the front of the car out another 12 inches. matches the body work back up with his own panels and everything. very thorough job. now there's room for the engine. problem is, the motormounts aren't the same for the two different engines. rather than drill new ones into the frame, the guy decides to mount the back ones, and then weld a chain to the frame, loop it around the engine twice, and then weld it to the frame on the other side. just to make it extra stable, he even welded the chain to the engine at the top. so he's sitting there at a red light, waiting to peel out for his buddies watching him. he revs it up real good, gets it screamin', and then the light turns green and he dumps the clutch. WHAM!!!! he torqued the engine so much that when he dumped the clutch, it used the chain it was welded to to fly right out of his hood, and land next to the car on the sidewalk. SMASH!!!!!! i guess that's what he gets

Actually, it was attached to the towing eye which is welded to a crossmember, it ripped the metal crossmember (which the bumper was bolted onto) clean off the frame (which it was WELDED to), thats why it caused so much damage.

And if you look at the video when they film the bumper on the ground theres a huge piece of semi-rusty metal attached to the bumper....this is the crossmember! :jawdrop:
