Networks HOW? Share wirelss internet through win2k

My dad has windows 2000 and he uses wireless to get his internet. Is there a way he can share the internet through his network card. so i can conenct through him. i know you can do it on winxp by bridgeing the wireless and wired and share teh conenction?

 

you don't need to bridge anything.

On your dads PC:
In the connection properties for the internet connection make sure that the tick is selected next to "allow other users to access the internet using this connection" Do the same to his wireless cards connection.

On your PC:
Just make sure that your network card's connection is present.

On your dads PC:
Run the home network wizard and make sure that you select his comp as the computer that has the internet connection.

On your PC:
run the same wizard but this time make sure that you select that you computer connects to the internet through another internet connection and select the wireless cards connection as the one that does this.

This is what I had to do, it is not the usual method but i have found it to be very universal as what your doing is just telling your pc that it is to connect to the internet through a wireless card's connection whenever it can find one. Basically it just leaves out trying to sync anything else, printers and wotnot.

With my laptop when its set up like this, i can turn it on and whenever it finds an available network it connects. Some people where i live really need to secure there connections...

 

i tried that but when i went to share the connection it said there was a ethernet adapter already configured to 192,168,0,1 so i dont know what to do. and where is the networking wizzard on w2k, i didnt think there was one
