Heh, so I'm new to water cooling and have put together about 4 water cooled pc's. Each time I've used Distilled water/ Zerex and sometimes UV dye. I'm using just cheap hose from home depot instead of the Tygon I origianally bought since I find it's alot stiffer/cheaper and doesn't kink.

What I'm finding is about 1 week after the build my hoses get all clouded and ruin the look.

Is there anyway of avoiding this?

I think it's the zerex but I'm afraid to use my water wetter as I've heard it ruins blocks.

I reccomend usin some Feser One instead of the water ect. It doesn't go cloudy, doesn't conduct Electricity and look much better than dye.

It's the zerex. Try distilled water with the minimum amount of anti-corrosion fluid (like, 2%), such as antifreeze or AC Fluid, or my personal favorite: Pentosin.

Wow.. I just read a crap load of stuff on this subject and apparently there is no way to stop hose clouding. Thanks for the advise mankz but I prefer to use water for cost/temp reasons. I have alot of loops to fill and like to tinker so may refill several times.

Here's the link to what I read incase anyone else needs help on this issue: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=119432

I use Zerex, changed water around a month ago, but previously it was in there for more than a year without any clouding whatsoever

WaterWetter though, thats a different story. Will never be using that again.

How much zerex did you have in your loop? What kind of tubing were you using and what else was in your water? Is it distilled water?

I use Tygo 3606-R with Zerex and Demineralized water. You need 5% Zerex!

I have used this in two pc's and have never had any clouding issues, but then I did rinse the blocks and rad's prior to use. From HWLabs there is a significant amount of residue which can lead to cloudy systems.

    Good luck :thumb:

I'm using deinonised water, zerex and a smidgen of blue dye in 1/2" tygon tubing

The amount of rubbish in my rad when I got it was unbelieveable, if you didn't rinse that could well be the cause.

Aight.. I'ma run some test this weekend, setup a test loop, rinse out blocks and rads and use a lil less zerex maybe even none since I'm not convinced I need it. We'll see what happens. Keep you updated.

I use the recommended amount on the back of Zerex, with deionised water (an ASDA special) and my hose is perfectly clear atm, although the water's a not-so-fetching pink...

i had distilled water and an orange antifreeze with tygon. never went cloudy. Just broke it down (never did a full water swap, just toped it off every 6 months) as i'm preping a phase change build.
